The growing demand for electronic displays has been integrated into all aspects of everyday life, and there is an urgent need to develop technologies that are both energy-efficient and low-cost and can be adapted to various forms and surfaces. Mainstream OLED and LCD technologies, due to their problems such as high power consumption, high production cost, and blue light damage to eyes, fail to achieve large-scale applications. There is an increasing demand for low-power, low-cost, ultra-thin and flexible displays. Electrochromic displays are typically bistable and require electrical energy only when the display content is changed, making them ideally suited for low-power applications. Electrochromic displays, which do not actively emit light, offer large viewing angles and are more eye-friendly. Furthermore, electrochromic displays can also be produced by low-cost large-area printing techniques. By improving materials and structures, Chongqing Zhiwei Technology Co., Ltd. (Zhiwei Technology) has improved the cycling stability of electrochromic displays to more than 1,000,000 cycles, with an operating temperature range from -20 to 120 degrees Celsius and an operating voltage as low as 0.3 V. Through the improvement of process technology, Zhiwei Technology has realized printing electrochromic displays on large-area plastic film completely with the roll-to-roll production method. By developing back sheet thin-film transistor (TFT) printing technology, Zhiwei Technology integrated the electrochromic front sheet and back sheet drivers to achieve a fully printed active matrix electrochromic display with minimum pixels of 1.5 mm and maximum dimensions of 40 cm.
